Scammers often build fake online relationships to gain your trust, only to steal your money or personal information. If someone you’ve never met asks for money or your online banking information, it’s likely a scam.

Protect yourself:

  • Be cautious with online relationships that move too fast.

  • Never send money or gift cards to someone you’ve only met online.

  • Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is.

Be cautious of individuals who claim to be serving in the military, on a secret mission, engaged in missionary work, or living overseas, as these are common scenarios used by scammers.
